On Monday, June 13, 2022, a trumpet sounded, and an angel was sent inviting Willie Eugene Weeks to spend eternal life in a spacious room at the top of Heaven’s stairs. Willie heard the trumpet and accepted the angel’s hand and is now in a place that is providing him with a life filled with everlasting peace and happiness.
Willie was born on November 10, 1930, in Naples, Texas to the late Maxine Boyd and Colonel Weeks. He graduated from Paul Prewitt High School in Omaha, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 where he proudly served 23 years. Willie met and married the love of his life, Dorise Moody Weeks, who proceeded him in death, and to this union five children were born. Willie was also proceeded in death by his sister, Essie Moye, and other loved family members.
He leaves to cherish his life and memories: Two sons, Howard Weeks (Shelane), and Kenneth Weeks; three daughters, Barbara Weeks-Marshall, Annette Weeks-Dixon, and Angela Weeks; grandchildren, Michael Weeks (Megan), Tiffany Mitchell-Fultz (Jeremy), Pateizia Weeks-Sneed (Darrell), Ash’Lynne McElroy (Christopher), Christopher Weeks, Dainnese Weeks, Gabby Weeks, Miles Weeks, Izzy Warren-Weeks, and Bentley Warren-Weeks; great-grandchildren, Yazmyne Weeks, Camden McElroy, Breon Weeks, Andon Fultz, Aaliyah McElroy, and Malcolm Weeks; and a host of other family members.
God looked around the garden and found an empty space.
He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.
He knew that you were in pain and that you would never be well on earth again.
He saw the roads were getting rough and hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered peace be thine.
