Wanda Jean Gilliland

Jean Johnson Gilliland, 96, passed away December 16, 2024. Jean was born October 15, 1928, in Midlothian, Tx to Ernest Jack Johnson and Maurine Morris. Jean married Zach Gilliland September 16, 1950 in Irving and shortly thereafter moved to Fort Worth, where they lived until retiring to the mountain community of Alto, NM.

Jean was a housewife and mother, raising two children and was always open for a bridge game with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Zach M. Gilliland, and her daughter, Brenda Gilliland, her parents and her sister, Frances Parsons.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law (whom she considered her daughter), Zeke and Clarisa Gilliland, her grandsons, Jacob Eggemeyer and his wife, Kayla, of Erie, Co. and Andrew Eggemeyer of El Paso, and her great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Henry Eggemeyer, also of Erie, Co. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Jo Ann Johnson, and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 23,2024 at Greenwood Cemetery.
