Wanda Imogene “Ima” “Imo”, Chilton, 79, of Benbrook, passed away May 27, 2021.
Celebration of Life: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.
Imogene was born December 23, 1941, in Decatur, Texas to Eugene Vincent Chambers and Wanda Lorene Mowery Chambers. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Texas.
Imogene worked at General Dynamics for many years before working at Miller Brewing Company. She was such an outgoing, fun loving, energetic person. She had a wonderful personality, loved life and definitely lived life to the fullest. Imogene was a people person, never meeting a stranger, loving to laugh and have a good time. Imogene was a good dancer and loved to dance. She loved to travel and was fortunate to travel many places in the world. Imogene loved planning trips for groups of people. She loved all kinds of animals, but she was a dog lover and loved spoiling her “sweet babies”. Imogene enjoyed going to plays, musicals, second-hand stores, and shopping, and shopping! She was one of a kind and a dear sweet person.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret Moore; and longtime partner, Rick Taylor.
Survivors include her former husband, Danny Joe Chilton; sister, Naomi Meek; companion, George Manor; nieces, Elisa and Barry White, Lacresia and Bobby Oden, Mandy and Rebel Broune, Brandy Meek and Tandy Meek; nephews, Vince and Renee Moore, and Jamey and Patti Bitz; many great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends.
