Violet Rose DeLeon Thompson, 91, of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on July 9 2017. We celebrate a life well-lived and a faith that has now become sight.
Celebration of Life: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at Hallmark Baptist Church, 4201 W. Risinger Road, Fort Worth, with reception following. Interment: Private.
Memorials: Green Oaks School -- for individuals and adults with Down syndrome and similar intellectual disabilities in the North Texas area, greenoaksschool.org.
Violet was born Nov. 8, 1925 in Fort Worth. She was a graduate of North Side High School and Fort Worth Business College. For over 25 years, she was employed in the Accounting Department of the historic Montgomery Wards Company in Fort Worth. Retirement provided Bill and Vi time to serve family and the community and she was actively involved at Hallmark Baptist Church, including the Builder's class.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Thompson; parents, Susie and Paul DeLeon; and brothers, Leonard and Leo DeLeon.
Survivors: Daughter, Jacque Chapman Linville and husband, Rodger; sister, Joyce DeLeon; sister-in-law, June DeLeon; grandchildren, Lauren Hamilton and husband, Kris, and Lindy Linville; great-grandchildren, Judah Kristopher and Selah Rose Hamilton; other precious generations of nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends, including longtime friend Lyn McDowell.
The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of The Waterford at Fort Worth, Agape Home Care, Trail Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Vitas Hospice.
