Tony W. Halbert, 86, passed away February 23, 2021.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.

Tony was born December 18, 1934 in Rusk, Texas, but grew up in Tyler where he attended public school, graduating from John Tyler High in 1953.  He attended Tyler Junior College, SMU, and the University of Texas in Austin.

Tony went to work for the American Cancer Society in 1958 as a field representative covering 15 counties in his beloved East Texas.  He and his family moved to Fort Worth in 1960 to take on the responsibility as Executive Director of the Tarrant County Unit of the ACS.  He joined Jerre R. Todd and Asst. Public Relations and Advertising in 1965 as an account executive, becoming the firm’s Vice President in 1967.  In 1972 he started his own firm specializing in business-to-business advertising and marketing.  In 1982 the business was expanded to represent National trade publications serving several different markets.  He retired in 2005 to pursue his interest in Art, reading and writing a family history.

He was married to his loving wife, Mary Maud “Maudie” Lane for 54 years before her death in 2011.

Tony is survived by his children, Libby Halbert-Farr of Brussels, Belgium, and partner, Mark Van de Mael, Ms. Leigh Simmons and husband, Joseph of Austin, Paige Halbert-Ertan of Fort Worth, and Todd Maverick Halbert and wife, Danielle, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Anthony Farr of Berlin, Germany, Wyatt Simmons of Dallas, Virginia Simmons of Austin, and Tyler Ertan of Fort Worth; great-grandson, Linus Farr of Berlin; brother, Lonnie M. Halbert of Tyler; and sister, Pamela White of Forney, Texas.
