Sylvia Cox, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 13, 2017.
Inurnment: 9:15 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Meals on Wheels, the SPCA, or Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in Sylvia's name.
Sylvia was born in Manchester, England on April 11, 1936. That is where she met and fell in love with William (Bill) Roscoe Cox, who was stationed in England while serving in the United States Air Force. They married on June 3, 1961. Sylvia and Bill were stationed multiple places during his tenure in the USAF -- Texas, Germany, Arizona, RAF Alconbury, England and finally retiring at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas. Sylvia was a feisty woman who loved to bowl, play BINGO with her friends, travel, go to the casinos and spend time with her immediate and extended family.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Bill.
Survivors: Son, Steven John Cox and wife, Donna, and their three children, Brett, Brian and Shawn; daughter, Sherry Lynn Adcock and husband, Kerry, and their children, Matthew and Mollie; and daughter, Leanne Joy McAfee and her children, Kaley and Michael. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
