In loving memory of Simon Cornelio Martinez, 84, who passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024. Cornelio was born in Rancho Grande, New Mexico on November 5, 1939, to his parents, Octaviano and Telesfora Martinez, their first born.
While growing up in Corrales, New Mexico, he attended Sandia View Academy. At a very young age Cornelio began working in the trucking industry. While working he completed 30 years of service with (CF) Consolidated Freight Ways, without a single accident! Simon was recognized for his exceptional performance and received many awards and certificates. He was a gentleman of many talents, always willing to lend a helping hand. He came to our rescue many times. Cornelio was an active member of the Azure Hills SDA Church in California.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Octaviano and Telesfora Martinez; his sister, Anna Lucille; and brother, Pete Martinez.
Cornelio is survived by his children, Mario, Domonic, Nicoli, Donna, Stacy, Pat, Robbie, and Rick; grandchildren, Wyatt, Ethan, Emily, and Selene; sister, Vangie and husband Terry Carver; and nieces and nephews, Jodie, Jonie, Carl, and Cathy.
He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his large family. People were magnetically drawn to him, adding to his vast community of friends.
Cornelio you will be greatly missed! We love you!
