Shirley Tomlin, 71, passed away on October 8, 2024 at the Autumn Leaves of Cityview. The hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill.
Shirley was born November 1st, 1952 to Harold and Alma Smith in Holden, MA. She was the 9th child born in her family. Shirley grew up in Holden and went on to graduate from Wachusett Regional High School in 1971. After graduating from high school, Shirley went on to marry and raise two children as a military wife before returning to Webster/Dudley, MA. Shirley worked over 15 years with Greater Media Cable which became Charter Communications.
In 2001, Shirley followed her family to Texas, transferring with Charter. Shortly after getting settled, Shirley started a new life where she met her second husband Eddie Tomlin. The two were inseparable from that point on. Shirley and Eddie were married for over 21 years and enjoyed their life together hunting, camping, fishing and attending Nascar Races. They especially loved vacationing on the Texas coast in Port Aransas with her family.
Shirley was a devoted Mother, Wife, and Nana to her grandkids. Family came first, a value she instilled in all those around her. She was a great cook and her recipes will live on through her grandkids. Shirley’s passions included baking, crocheting, ceramics and celebrating holidays with her family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers, Harold, Robert, David, Tommy, and Johnny; her sister, Linda Tupper; and two nieces, Michelle Blandon, and Robin Smith.
Shirley is survived by her husband, John Eddie Tomlin of Benbrook, Texas; her son, Arthur Savard Jr. and his wife, Deanna Savard of Fort Worth Texas; her daughter, Julie Brown and her husband, Thomas Brown of Crowley, Texas; three grandkids, Colt Savard of Madison, GA; and Ayden and Madisyn Savard of Fort Worth, Texas; her two sisters, Barbara Lyons of Kingston, MA. and Priscilla Davis and her husband, Gerald Davis of North Grosvenordale, CT.; her brother, Ronald Smith of Oakham, MA; and her first husband, Arthur Savard Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas. She had many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
