All will have an opportunity to share a special event or story about Shawn. This is a celebration of his life so please be prepared to share.
Shawn was born September 12, 1970 at Chanute AFB, Ill. A few years later he found himself moving to Zwiebruken, Germany where he spent the next five years. During his time there he traveled throughout Europe and really enjoyed his time camping in southern Germany in the Alps. He loved hiking to the top of the mountain but he always wanted to go higher than was recommended by the signs. Of course he would always remind me that he did not read German when I finally caught up to him and his older brother. Shawn was very intelligent and liked to explore new things and live outside the box. He lived in quite a few places when he was growing up. When returning from Germany he lived in California, Ohio, the United Kingdom, Oklahoma, and Texas. Shawn graduated from Brewer High School in 1988 and a short time later he joined the Plumbers and Steamfitter’s Local Union 146 Apprentice Program and approximately five years later he became a journeyman. He went on to become a master plumber. Shawn loved his work, foremost his daughter, Hannah and his family.
Survivors: His daughter, Hannah; father, John; stepmother, Brenda; brother, John Jr.; sister, Mindy Jo and her husband, Rick; nieces, Katelyn Stepp, Alexandra Stepp, and Kylee and Jaidon Mae Pospech; nephew, Cooper Stepp; biological mother, Beatrice Green of Henderson, Nev.; and Shawn would want to add all of his Brothers at Local Union 146.
