Sarah Bennett

Sarah Jean Bennett, loving mother and grandmother, went to Heaven on June 22, 2019.

A Memorial Service was held June 29, 2019 at Gateway Church, North Richland Hills, Texas, with burial at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

Sarah was born in Meridian, Mississippi to John Florence and Winnie May Jolly Florence. She moved to Fort Worth where her then husband, William Charles Bennett, was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base. Sarah graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Psychology. She was a resident of River Oaks, Texas for 60 years.

Her interests included family, church, tithing, sewing, reading, sketching, eating out (La Madeline's), exercising at the senior center, and helping others. She was a former member of River Oaks Baptist Church, and later Gateway and Trinity Baptist. One of her favorite charities was Samaritan's Purse and their Operation Christmas Child Ministry. Each Christmas, she enjoyed shopping with her grandchildren, filling shoe-box gifts for children around the world.

Sarah later worked at TCJC, NW Campus. She was well versed on healthy eating, vitamins, and living a healthy lifestyle. The loves of her life were her grandchildren, Michael, Samuel, Emma, and Adam. The greatest gift she gave them was of herself.

Sarah was preceded in death by her sisters, Stella Mosgrove and Christine Allen of Meridian, Mississippi.

Survivors: Sarah is survived by her brother, Irvin J. Florence of Natchez, Miss.; her three children and their families: daughter, Stella Brooks, grandson, Michael Brooks, and granddaughter, Emma Brooks Ghorbani, and her husband, Isaac Ghorbani; daughter Patty Austin and her husband, Scott Austin, grandson, Samuel Austin and his wife, Courtney, and Adam Austin; and her stepson, Craig Bennett and his wife, Kathy, and their daughter, Erin.
