Robert Ralph Lanham, 70, passed away March 5, 2017, surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Please join the family for a visitation commencement at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Annetta Cemetery.
Robert Ralph Lanham was born October 19, 1946 in Ranger. He was the baby of 11 brothers and sisters. Robert met his wife, and life-long partner, Karen Trueblood in Abilene. He served in the Army and was stationed for a short time in Germany with Karen. They married December 22, 1966, and had two children, Teresa and Pamela. They were then blessed to go on and have three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, who were their pride and joy.
Robert worked for over three decades at Merchants Motor Lines where he was an Office Manager. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and also loved spending time at the racetrack watching the horses run. Robert loved taking trips to Winstar, always looking for his "big win". He loved watching his favorite TV shows, especially Survivor, The Walking Dead, and Big Brother. Robert loved fishing trips, especially ones he took with his brothers every Mother's Day weekend.
He was always there for his family, and would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He was so beloved by his family and friends, and his loss is felt deeply by all who knew him. May he have peace and no pain in heaven, and look down upon those he loved, and may his presence be felt for those who miss him, so incredibly much.
Survivors: Robert leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Karen Leilani Lanham; two daughters, Teresa L. Williams of Fort Worth and Pamela Lanham and husband, Brian Church of Benbrook; grandchildren, Victoria Williams of Maryland, Derrick Williams and wife, Katt Trullijo of Cleburne, and Brianna Church of Benbrook; great-grandchildren, Aiden Lewis Williams and soon-to-arrive, Levi Robert Williams; brothers, Dwight "Ike" Lanham of Benbrook, Jim Lanham and Mike Lanham of Abilene; and a host of family and friends.
