Patrick Gerald "Jerry" Spellman, 77, of Benbrook, Texas, passed away in his sleep, at home, on March 2, 2019.
Memorial Visitation: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126.
Jerry was born September 3, 1941 in Buffalo, N.Y. After high school he joined the Air Force. He met his wife, Venita, while stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene and they were married in 1964. After leaving the Air Force, he became an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA, where he retired after 20+ years. Jerry went on to work at the Grand Prairie Airport as an Air Traffic Controller until 2010. He spent his time traveling with his wife of 55 years, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Jerry was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Burleson, as well as the Knights of Columbus. He never met a stranger and will be missed by countless friends and most especially by his family. There was no better husband, father or grandfather!
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Spellman and his wife, Concetta Spellman; his mother, Rita Spellman; and his in-laws, Call and Lena "Dutch" McLean.
Survivors: His loving wife, Venita Spellman; his daughter, Rhonda Reynolds and husband, Jason; grandson, Mason Reynolds; granddaughter, Rachael Reynolds; sister, Rita Marie Sellens; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Wanda Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
