Norman Bennett Lassetter, 95, of Crowley, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018.
Graveside services: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Emerald Hills Memorial Park, 500 Sublett Road, Kennedale.
Norman was born June 20, 1922 in Waco to Marcus Bennett Lassetter and Ollie Jane Breeding Lassetter. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines as a Liberty ship radio operator during World War II. Subsequently, he established radio stations in Alamogordo, N.M. and Del Rio. Later he became owner and operator of Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Kennedale, and was active in the Kennedale community for over 35 years before his retirement.
Norman is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Velma Lassetter, and his brother, Roger Lassetter.
Survivors: Son, Fleet Lassetter of Mansfield; daughter, Cindy Lassetter Vickers and husband, Keith of Crowley; daughter, Laurie Lassetter Walther and husband, Larry of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Ryan Vickers and wife, Lindsey of Kyle; Lauren Vickers of Crowley; Corbett Walther and wife, Morgan of Southlake; Russell Bennett Walther and wife, Kirstin of Tallahassee, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Brynn, Elliott, and Grace Walther of Southlake; and sister-in-law, Gloria Lassetter of Dallas.
