Michael Wylie Morrison, of Granbury, passed peacefully on December 12, 2022 in Fort Worth.
Everyone was special to Mike, he loved and beamed with pride of his loving family. A friend to all, yet made you feel like family.
Michael was born September 13, 1942 to Woodrow and Charlotte Morrison in Fort Worth. Michael married in 1972 and had one daughter while unconditionally assuming the role of father to one son. Mike served as a Fort Worth Fireman for a short time until his engineering intellect led him to a career at General Dynamics; Andrews Towers and ultimately retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2009.
He was dedicated to work and play equally balancing life as the amazing father, and father figure he was. During Mike’s younger years he enjoyed cars and drag racing. His involvement with Boy Scouts helped shape many young lives. He enjoyed all sports as he coached baseball and softball for CYA and BRA (BYBSA). His love for bowling was undeniable and made many friends during his years of league bowl. Mike was an avid fisherman and one of the founders of Trophy Bass Club. On a Friday you could find him on the golf course as he loved the outdoors.
As a supporter of his community Mike served on the Benbrook City Council from 1983-1989. His impact inspired the “Mike Morrison Annex” for the dispatchers of Benbrook P.D.
In 2001, Michael married his love, Carol Maxine Morrison, and a whole new life was discovered gaining another daughter, son-in-law and grandsons alike. Mike and Carol lived in Granbury, were members of Granbury Church of Christ, and enjoyed cruising, and local plays with family making memories. Michael was unconditionally devoted to loving on Carol during her years battling cancer until the roles switched of late. Michael was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s this year where Carol loved on him beyond fullest potential.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Charlotte Morrison; and brother-in-law, John Tucker.
