Leta Friddle

September 28, 1940 — October 28, 2019

Leta S. "Nanny" Friddle, 79, of Weatherford, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at her daughter's home from complications related to her Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). In hospice care for months prior to her death, she passed peacefully with her loving daughters and family by her side.

Memorial service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the chapel at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main St., Weatherford, Texas 76086.

Leta Friddle was born in Gorman and grew up in White Settlement, where she graduated from Brewer High School in 1959. She then attended college in Beaumont. Her marriage in 1960 produced two beautiful daughters. She lived most of her life in Weatherford, serving as the executive director of the Weatherford Housing Authority, playing an instrumental role in the building of the current Housing office on West Oak Street. She retired from the Weatherford Housing Authority and enjoyed spending her time serving at her church, North Side Baptist Church, singing in the choir, crocheting numerous hats for the Happy Hats Ministry, and being an active member of the Joy Class.

Leta was preceded in death by her siblings, Benjamin Howe and Freda Dewveall.

Survivors: Leta leaves her daughter, Denice Ramsey and husband, Joel; daughter, Desma Pitcox; grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler and wife, Alex, Olivia, LeAnne, Buster, Elizabeth, and Caroline; and three great-grandchildren.
