Kay Pierson, 81, of Fort Worth, Texas and Riverton, Wyoming passed away March 3, 2024, in Fort Worth.
LaVonne Kay Pierson was born September 12, 1942, to Dale and Ethel “Mickey” Ibach in Riverton, Wyoming. Shortly after graduating high school on June 3, 1960, she married the love of her life, Charles Allen Pierson. They had four boys together, Charles “Eddie”, Richard “Butch”, Dennis and Kenny. She worked as a stay-at-home Mom and homesteader until she went to work in Food Services at Burleson ISD from 1976 to 1986. She transferred to the Mansfield ISD and worked as a Food Services Manager until 1993 when her husband retired.
After retirement, they both went to work in the National Parks Service. Kay and Charlie worked in Yellowstone National Park, as well as several other National and State Parks across the United States, every summer between 1993 and 1998. Her winters were spent in Granbury, Texas, spoiling her five grandchildren, Ricky, Chaz, Matt, Allison, and Cristy every moment she could. In 2011, Kay was blessed with her first great-grandchild, Wyatt, and then Skye and Lea in 2020 and 2021. She cherished every moment she had with every member of her family. She loved them all “to the moon and back”.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son, Richard, and grandson, Ricky.
She is survived by three sons, Eddie, Dennis, and Kenny (Karon) Pierson; two brothers and their wives, Denny and Sharon Ibach, and Gale and Linda Ibach; four grandchildren, Chaz Pierson (Morgan Molter), Matt Pierson (Sandra Vaquera), Allison Pierson (Justin Phillips), and Cristy Pierson; six great-grandchildren, Dillon, Lauren, Wyatt, Skye, Lea, and Dean; and several nieces, and nephews.
