Larry Valkman

Larry Gene Valkman, 71, joined his wife and father to be with Jesus on August 30, 2017.
Funeral service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126. Visitation: 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral service. Interment: 2:30 p.m., Tuesday in New Harp Cemetery in Montague County.

Larry was born June 14, 1946 in Decatur to Raymon Loyd and Geneva Lorene Averitt Valkman, but grew up in Fort Worth. He attended Arlington Heights High School and went to Weatherford College to pursue electronics. In 1976 he married Dolores Cantrell and they had one daughter, Christy. They met at work, K.P. Automotive. In 1977, he was hired as a shipper at General Dynamics and continued there, retiring in 2009 after 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymon Valkman, and wife, Dolores Valkman.
Survivors: Daughter, Christy Valkman of Benbrook; mother, Geneva Valkman of Forestburg; sister, Teresa Zink of Benbrook; sister, Reba LaDuke of Cresson; and sister, Gayla Qualls of Benbrook.
