Joyce Paula White was born on June 14, 1937 and passed from this life on November 27, 2024. She lived 87 years and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in Paramus, New Jersey and was the daughter of Ernest and Edith Bolm. Joyce moved with Edith, Ernest and her four brothers, Arthur, Leslie, Ernie, and Richard, to Florida at the age of 5.

Joyce met Edward White in Florida and they married when she was 17. Joyce and Ed were married for 65 years before Ed passed in 2021. Following her husband’s passing, Joyce moved to Texas and found an entire community of new friends, among them a special relationship with Eddie Ragon. Eddie’s friendship and loving kindness made a positive and meaningful impact in Joyce’s final years. She was a homemaker until 1983 and then chose to go to work for the Broward County School Board in food services at Henry D. Perry Middle school. She was a middle school cafeteria lady for twenty years and retired with a pension to prove it! Joyce loved the children she served at the school. She also loved to bake and decorate cakes for friends and loved ones. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, and quilting. She was strong willed, tough, and funny. She always loved the occasional dirty joke!

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Kelli Sims and her husband, Brad Sims, and Shawn Burch and husband, Michael Burch; and grandchildren, Shea, Breanna, Joli, and Justin. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whenever she could. Kelli took on Joyce’s care for the final almost 4 years of Joyce’s life and Kelli was grateful to have been holding Joyce’s hand as she passed.
