On April 12, 2021, Jerry Lynn Hudson, Owner, Studio Manager and Recording Engineer at Eagle Audio Recording, passed away at the age of 68. Jerry was born on August 31, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas to J.D. (John) Hudson and Vera (Feltner) Hudson.
Jerry was a recording and live sound engineer for almost 50 years in Fort Worth, Texas. Jerry started in live sound in 1971 and began recording in 1976 at Pantego Sound where he was based for 20 years. He has recorded hundreds of bands and worked thousands of shows. From managing bands such as Stymie, Nitzinger and Calico in the 70's to Savvy and Ricky Lynn Gregg in the 80's and 90's. In 1976 he toured with Merle Haggard as FOH Audio Engineer. This is just an abbreviated list of his work.
His passion was recording music and the music business in general. He was loved and respected by all those in the music industry he helped in Fort Worth and beyond. His sense of humor and sharp wit was enjoyed by many friends and relatives. He will be missed by his family, numerous friends, and music business associates, who all loved him dearly.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, J.D. (John) Hudson and his mother, Vera (Feltner) Hudson.
He is survived by his brother, Randy Hudson and wife, Lisa; his sister, Kathy Hudson Kennedy and husband, Ira; nephews, Deryck Gorman, Jerrod Hudson, Robert Hudson, Ricky Hudson, Brent Tucker, and John (Fitzgibbon) McCoy; and nieces, Kelli Adams, Kristen Lusk and Sarah McCoy.
A Celebration of Life for Jerry will be held at a later date.
