Jason Carpenter, 36, of White Settlement passed away on November 18, 2018 in Fort Worth from acute pneumonia.
Memorial service: 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126.
Jason grew up in west Fort Worth, and attended the Fort Worth Magnet Schools and graduated Cum Laude from the Science & Engineering Magnet High School in 2000. He competed in many different UIL academic competitions. Although he has won many UIL awards he was especially proud of beating out the older students when he won Como Montessori’s (grades K-8th) Spelling Bee when he was just a third grader. Jason was in the honor program while at the University of North Texas and studied Graphics Design. Jason has worked for many different companies but loved his last job where he was being trained as one of their graphics designers.
Jason’s passion was soccer and was the starting Keeper on both his Middle and High School teams. He played Keeper for Fury, a men’s over 30 competitive indoor team at Game-On in White Settlement. Many of the men played on the same team with Jason since their earlier teens. He also played keeper for the Warriors, which was an over 30 co-ed team at the same complex. He thought of his teammates as an extension to his family.
Survivors: Jason is survived by his parents, Daniel and Janie of Fort Worth; and his brothers, Christopher and Donavon. Jason also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
