Janie Shaw, 71, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Fort Worth.
Funeral:
3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Visitation: 2 p.m. to service time Tuesday.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the Shaw family suggests contributions in Janie's memory to Cook Children's Health Foundation, 801 7th Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104.
Janie Shaw was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Vernon, daughter of the late Roy A. and Mary A. Douglas Gann. She met Jon Shaw in Izmir, Turkey, in 1962 and they married at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala., on March 17, 1964. Janie made her career in civil service and retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
In addition to being an avid reader, she loved to garden and was a pro at do-it-yourself projects. But at the top of everything was attending her granddaughters' functions.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Alexis Shaw.
Survivors:
Husband, Jon Shaw of Benbrook; children, Jon Shaw Jr., Tracy A. Shaw and husband, Remy Chaudhuri, and David A. Shaw, all of Benbrook; granddaughters, Kayla B. Turner of Benbrook, Miranda L. Shaw and Tamara L. Shaw, both of North Richland Hills; sisters, Judith Glaze of Crowley and Roy Jean Capio of Benbrook; brother, Roy A. Gann and wife, Jiome, of Benbrook; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
