Janie Segars

It is with great sorrow the children of Janie Segars announce her passing. She passed into Heaven on Friday, March 8, 2019 with her beloved family at her bedside.

Funeral service: Her children and grandchildren will send her home on Wednesday, March 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126. Visitation: 12-1:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service.

Janie was born in Munday, Texas on November 4, 1927 to Charles Henry Haynie, Sr. and Marah Eugenia "Jean" Brown Haynie. Janie moved to Fort Worth from Munday in 1956 working at The Fair Department Store and Beauty Salon in the TCU area. She married Edward Hugh Segars on June 9, 1961. After marriage, she was a stay at home wife and mother. She returned to work when her daughter was 16. Janie was a Baptist and was a licensed hairdresser since 1946. She worked in hair salons in Benbrook for many years, retiring at the age of 67.

Her husband, Ed, preceded her in death on January 1, 1969.

Survivors: Janie is the mother of two children, daughter, Sarah Jane Segars of Fort Worth, and son, Paul Edward Segars and his wife, Candis Segars of Fort Worth. Paul and Candis gave Janie three grandchildren, Hailey Brianne White, 28, Chase Edward Segars, 19 and Adelyn Elizabeth Segars, 16. Janie’s grandchildren are and always will be the jewels in her crown. Her children and her grandchildren were her heart, her love and her soul.
