Jamesine Scott

November 8, 1929 — March 14, 2019

Jamesine "Jimmie" Lee House Scott lost her long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease on March 14, 2019, surrounded by her loving children.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life. Jamesine will be interred next to her husband at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Humane Society of North Texas or the National Alzheimer's Association.

Jimmie was born Nov. 8, 1929 to Beaetta Lee Kidwell House and James Allen House, Sr., in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Ind. and Hanover College in Madison, Ind. She married the love of her life, Jack Thomas Scott, on April 1, 1950.

Jimmie loved her family unconditionally. She was an animal lover and loved every pet she ever owned. She was passionate about the annual family camping trip to see different parts of the country. A good cook who enjoyed preparing tasty meals on a budget, Jimmie had a gift for making every house she lived in a home. She enjoyed her houseplants, flower gardening, going to garage sales, playing board and card games, and of course, her weekly trip to the grocery store.

Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jack Thomas Scott, her parents, James and Beaetta House, Sr., her younger sister, Martha Marlene House, and her great-grandchild, Eli Scott.

Survivors: Jamesine is survived by her younger brother, James Allen (Elizabeth) House Jr. of Carmel, Ind.; her four children, Michael (Christie) Scott, of La Porte, Ind., Laura (Bryan) Taylor of Benbrook, Texas, Nancy (Dan) Burgard of Benbrook, Texas, and Amy (Robert) Dickerson of Fort Worth, Texas; her grandchildren, Phillip (Sabrina) Scott, Adam (Ashley) Taylor, Brendon (Katie Piotrowicz) Scott, Caitlin Burgard, Amanda (Clinton) May, Amber (Ryan) Cleaver, Andrew (Tara Summers) Cooper, Alyssa Dickerson, Emily Burgard, and Aiden Dickerson; nine great-grandchildren; two nephews; and two nieces.
