Gerry Lloyd Biddy, 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, November 24, 2024, at his hospice facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
Visitation: 2-4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1st, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 2nd at Winscott Road Funeral Home.
Gerry was born November 7, 1945, in Warren, Oklahoma. He grew up on his family farm and graduated from Navajo High School in 1964. He was inducted into the U.S. Army February 10, 1966, and served in the 3rd Armored Division at Gilhausen, Germany, where he played baseball for the Army at different bases across Germany. He was honorably discharged January 24, 1968, and not long after began working for Halliburton in the oil fields.
In January 1975, he met the love of his life, Lora Dykes, whom he married in June of that same year in Wichita Falls, Texas. They welcomed their son, Jonathan in 1976. Soon after they moved to Palestine, Texas, where their daughter, Christi was born in 1978, followed by another daughter, Sherry in 1979.
Gerry’s work with Halliburton moved the family to Gainesville, Texas, and then to Abilene, Texas in 1986. Eventually, Gerry retired from Halliburton in 1999 and began later working in the Hunting and Fishing department at Academy Sport and Outdoors. Gerry and Lora moved to Weatherford in 2003. After Lora’s passing in 2006, Gerry moved to Benbrook, where he enjoyed spending his free time fishing, cooking, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Gerry is preceded in death by his wife, Lora Dykes Biddy; his brother, Ronald Biddy; his brother-in-law, John Risenhoover; and his parents, Ray and Mildred Biddy.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan Biddy and his wife, Penny; and their children, Lora and Samuel; his daughter, Christi Walker and her husband Dustin; and their children, Harrison and Charlotte; his daughter, Sherry Biddy; his sister, Marilyn Risenhoover; his brother, Leon Biddy and his wife Susan; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
