FORT WORTH -- Gerald Wayne Swisher, 85, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Gerald was born June 7, 1929, in Turtle Creek, Pa. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Gerald graduated from Georgia Tech, class of 1960, and George Washington High School, class of 1946. He was a member of the A-3 Skywarrior Association, B-47 Stratojet Association, the Fort Worth Orchestra, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Gerald was owner of Swisher Driving Services, director of IT, NYC School Systems, director of MIS at SCM, GE technical rep, and Boeing B-47 technical rep.
He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Russell Swisher; and wife, Beverly Swisher.
Survivors: Brother, John M. Swisher of Sterling Heights, Mich.; former wife, Blanche Bonnibelle Rainbow of Tully, N.Y.; son, Stephen Swisher and wife, Kathleen, of The Woodlands; son, Mark Swisher and wife, Susan, of Fort Worth; son, Paul W. Swisher of Tully, N.Y.; daughter, Maria B. Brothers of LaFayette, N.Y.; son, Peter Swisher and wife, Stacy, of Oviedo, Fla.; stepdaughters, Kathy Tryon, Corrine Haynes and Robin Tryon, all of Syracuse, N.Y.; and numerous grandchildren across the U.S.
