Frank Sronce, 86, of Benbrook, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021.
Committal Service: Frank will be given a full military honors ceremony at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
Memorials: Memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or the COPD Foundation.
Frank was born March 27, 1935, in Columbus, Texas where he lived until joining the Navy. His 34-year career with the Navy took him all over the world and the United States. After working his way up through the ranks as a Mustang, he retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1987. Upon retiring from the Navy, Frank went to work with General Dynamics as the Liaison Officer with the Navy in charge of security for the A-12 program. He stayed with them until the program finally ended in 2014.
Frank was an avid woodworker and spent many hours making furniture and anything else that could be fashioned out of wood. In his youth, he enjoyed driving his Toyota Sport 800 in rally races.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty; his parents, William Robert Jr. and Susie Young Sronce; and his brothers, William Robert Sronce III and Gus Crockett Sronce.
Survivors: Frank is survived by his daughters, Donna Wilmeth and Jacquelyn Calp and husband, Dan; sons, Kelley Barnett and wife, Leslie, and Frank Thomas Sronce Jr. and wife, Jennifer. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret (Maggie) Downey; his grandchildren, Lara, Brian, Stacey, Ericka, Thomas, Terrie, and Jonah; and many nieces and nephews.
