David Wayne Hurdle passed away on August 15, 2024 in Weatherford, Texas. The son of Patricia and Vernon P. Hurdle, he was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1963 while his father was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. David graduated from Azle High School, in Azle, Texas in 1981, after attending Azle schools for ten years.
Soon after graduating, he joined Texas Turbine in Azle and began his career working in the oil and gas industry. His work often took him on the road throughout the United States, the Middle East and Asia. He often said that during his trips to Pakistan were the only times he had the opportunity to be escorted by an actual armed militia.
David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout the country. He was active in previous years in Trout Unlimited and created, and for many years, led a local chapter in Tarrant County Texas. He enjoyed supporting veterans through the North Texas Minutemen Organization.
He was predeceased by parents, Vernon P. and Patricia Hurdle; and sister, Deborah Lynn Benson.
David is survived by sons, Steven Hurdle and Erin, Mathew Hurdle and Allison; sister, Sharon; brother, Vernon Hurdle and Cristi; grandchildren, Zack, Maddie and Emmett; nieces, Jacqueline, Victoria and Timborah.
The family will be holding a private gathering later.
