Charles Walter Crumpton Sr., 81, of Benbrook, passed away July 29, 2017 at a local hospital, after battling various medical issues. He was surrounded by his supportive and loving family.
Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Winscott Road Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Benbrook Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorsproject.org in Charles Crumpton's memory.
Charles was born Jan. 12, 1936 in Italy, Texas and grew up in Fort Worth. He served three years in the Navy and had a 27 year career in the Air Force reserves at Carswell Air Force Base. Charles retired in 1994 as Chief Master Sergeant to pursue his passion of fishing. Charles was a graduate from East Texas State in Commerce, Texas.
Charles was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shane Crumpton, his mother, Cora Dean, and brother, Roy Crumpton.
Survivors: Loving wife of 50 years, Nancy; four children, Charles Crumpton Jr. (Paula), Jacquelin Wilson, Terry Crumpton (Bridget), and Sandy Wilson Miley (David); ten grandchildren, Charlie Crumpton III, Chris Crumpton, Nikki Crumpton, Michelle Crumpton, Keith Moak, Kim Moak Aguilar, Kacee Crumpton, Ethan Miley, Blaine Miley, and Alexandra Miley; and three great-grandchildren.
