Charles Arthur Clayton, 87, died peacefully at his home in Benbrook, on July 29, 2021.
Graveside Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Benbrook Cemetery, 825 Mercedes Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.
Charles was born April 3, 1934, in Fort Worth. He was a lifelong resident of Benbrook, where he lived with his wife, Patricia Clayton. Charles served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a well-known mechanic in Fort Worth and owned Clayton’s Automotive for many years.
Charlie enjoyed traveling with friends and family and had many adventures. He also enjoyed spending his time at his land in Brock, Texas, raising his cattle, gardening, and fishing with his family. He was known as “Pepaw” by all. Charlie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that always made sure his family had anything and everything they wanted.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Lura Mae Clayton; his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Clayton; and son, Johnny Duncan.
Survivors: He is survived by his children, Charles L. Clayton, Dee Ann Gibbs, and Missy Peterson; grandchildren, Danielle, David, Caitlin, Brianne, and Ryan; and several great grandchildren.
