Catherine Mae Weiss, 70, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019, after enjoying her favorite meal with her husband of 42 years, Dennis Weiss.
Born Catherine Mae Evans on August 18, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio, she lived in Columbus for the next 31 years where she grew up, went to school and married her first husband, Jim Fornash. They were divorced in 1977, the same year she met and married Dennis Weiss. Three years later they moved to Benbrook, Texas where she attended St. Joseph Nursing School and earned her LVN Certification and started her nursing career. She returned to Nursing School at Tarrant County College to earn her RN Certification and continued her career as a nurse until her retirement in 2016. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking road trips with her husband, and going to see Barry Manilow, whenever she had the opportunity. Catherine was a very giving person who often thought of others happiness before her own. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bettie Evans; and her brother, Keith Evans.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Weiss; her siblings, Marty Fisher and her husband, Frank, and Harry Evans Jr. and his wife, Gert; her children, David Weiss and his wife, Deana, Debbie Fornash, Tim Fornash and his wife, Kay, and Chris Weiss and his wife, Stacey; and her grandchildren, Jessica Weiss, Alex Weiss, Gavin Fornash, Cali Fornash, Zevyn Weiss and Willow Weiss.
