FORT WORTH -- Angus Allen "Bubba" McDonell III, 66, embarked on his latest adventure to heaven Wednesday, May 7, 2014, where he is now running on the beach.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road.
Bubba was born Aug. 10, 1947, in Fort Worth. He grew up in White Settlement and at his family's resort at Lake Worth, Mac's Camp. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967 and was a Purple Heart Vietnam veteran. Bubba lived in a number of places from Europe to Tulum, Mexico, to Telluride, Colo., where he never met a stranger.
He was predeceased by a great-niece, Avery.
Survivors: Janet Fawcett; sisters, Cynthia Barr and husband, Jeff, and Dian Price and husband, Russell; nephews, Donald Barr and wife, Wendy, David Barr and wife, Susan, and Skyler McDonell Price; niece, Deborah Cole and husband, Weldon; great-nieces, Erin, Magen and Kandace; great-nephews, Alex, Noah, Zachary and Garrett; and lifelong friends he claimed as brothers, David Coffin and Bill Boyd.
