April Moore

July 24, 1949 — November 18, 2022

Arlington

Charles “Chuck” Ress Moore, 76, of Arlington, Texas, passed away November 13, 2022, at his home.  April Marie Moore, 73, Chuck’s wife, passed away five days later, November 18, 2022, in Arlington.  They spent 56 years together and now they are together still.

There will be a combined Celebration of Life for both Chuck and April at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.

Chuck was born October 31, 1946, in Bonham, Texas.  He was the second of four boys born to Robert Max Moore and Margaret Louise “Granny Lou” McRae Moore.  Chuck learned to tolerate his three brothers, who were always full of mischief.  Poor Granny Lou!  Chuck entered the Army in January 1966 and was deployed to Germany.

April was born July 24, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio to Robert V. and Gloria Moore. They were married in January 1968 and they lived in Germany until January 1969. After returning to the states their son, Rob, was born Dec. 14, 1970, and their daughter, Carla, was born May 27, 1974.  Both Rob and Carla are in Heaven now and their family is together again.

Chuck and April both graduated from Arlington High School.  Their fathers were both named Robert Moore and both worked at General Motors until retirement.  Chuck joined Graybar Electric in 1968 and worked until his retirement, 40+ years later.  No one can think about Chuck without smiling.  His antics as an Elvis impersonator were priceless.  Even Graybar gave Chuck and April a trip to Graceland upon his retirement. He was kind, funny, smart, detailed about everything in his home, but mostly he was obsessed with his garage, his escape.  Elvis’s memorabilia and funny license plates adorn the walls.  He spent most of his at home time there.

April became a stay-at-home mom when their children were born. April’s mother, Gloria, became a fixture in their home when the kids came along and they were inseparable.  April became a collector of many things – dolls, toys, collector’s items, etc.  Every inch of space in her closets were full of things she loved.  When their grandchildren and then great-grandchildren were born, they were ecstatic.  April had a very sharp memory until her later years.  Before her mind began to fail her, she was the authority on everything -- people, dates, occasions, gifts, etc.

Chuck and April are preceded in death by their parents; their two children, Rob Moore and Carla Moore Plechus; their nephews, Kamron Leigh Moore, Christopher Brent Moore, and David Landry Hopkins; and Chuck’s brother, Jimmy Moore.

Chuck and April are both survived by their grandchildren, Caitlin Brisendine and fiancé, Hammad Abbasi, Ryan Brisendine and Connor Plechus; great-grandchildren, Caycen Cook, and Camden Cook; son-in-law, Scott Plechus; and many precious nieces, nephews, friends, and devoted neighbors of over 40 years.

Chuck is survived by his brothers, Ron Moore, and Wayne Moore and wife, Brenda of Bonham; sister-in-law, Kay Moore; special niece, Traci Moore; and his former Graybar coworkers and friends.  April is survived by her sister, Debby Thomas and husband, A.J., and children; and brother, Kenny Moore and wife, Vicki, and children.
